Professional Dryer Vent Cleaning in Nova Scotia
Is Your Dryer Vent a Fire Waiting to Happen?
Most people never think about their dryer vent — until something goes wrong. But lint is one of the most flammable materials in your home, and over time it builds up inside your dryer duct until airflow is almost completely blocked.
Blocked dryer vents are the number one cause of house fires in residential homes in North America. Insurance companies are increasingly requiring annual dryer vent cleaning as a condition of coverage — and it’s easy to see why.
At Pure Air Cleaning, our trained and uniformed technicians will clear your exterior vent, run a specialist drill-powered brush through the full length of the duct, and clear every bit of lint, dust, debris – and yes, the occasional bird or mouse nest. (We’ve seen it all!) Professional, efficient and done right.
Signs Your Dryer Vent Needs Cleaning

Dryer Fires Are More Common Than You Think
Lint is an incredibly efficient fire starter — and most people have no idea how much builds up inside their dryer duct over time. A blocked vent forces your dryer to work harder, run hotter, and eventually something gives.
Insurance companies across Canada are now starting to require annual dryer vent cleaning as a condition of home insurance. Don’t wait until it becomes a problem.
One clean could save your home — and your insurance premiums.

Is Your Dryer Taking Forever?
If your clothes are taking two or three cycles to dry, or your laundry room feels warm and stuffy when the dryer runs, a blocked vent is almost certainly the culprit.
When lint builds up inside the duct, air can’t escape properly — so your dryer just keeps running, your clothes stay damp, and your energy bill quietly climbs. Most customers are amazed at the difference a single clean makes.
And it’s not just about convenience — a blocked vent is also a serious fire risk. One clean sorts both problems at once.
A clean, clear dryer vent dries faster, cuts your energy bills, and keeps your home safe.

Common Questions About Dryer Vent Cleaning
How often should I clean my dryer vent
Most manufacturers and fire safety experts recommend once a year. If you do a lot of laundry or have a large family, every 6 months is a good idea. Insurance companies are also increasingly requiring annual dryer vent cleaning as a condition of coverage — particularly in commercial buildings.
How long does a Dryer Vent clean take?
Most dryer vent cleans take between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the length and condition of the vent.
Do I need to be home?
You don’t need to be home — as long as we have access to the property we can take care of everything. We’ll send your invoice by email or text once we’re done. Just let us know your preference when you book!
Will cleaning my dryer vent make it more efficient?
Absolutely – it’s one of the most noticeable improvements you can make. A clear vent means air flows freely, so your dryer works less hard, uses less energy, and dries a full load in one cycle instead of two or three. Most customers notice the difference immediately after their first clean.
Can a blocked dryer vent really cause a fire?
Yes – lint is highly flammable and blocked vents are the leading cause of residential dryer fires. It’s not something to ignore.
Can you clean any type of dryer vent?
We clean rigid metal and semi-rigid aluminum dryer vents. We’re not able to clean the thin flexible foil-type vents — these can be damaged during cleaning and are actually not up to current building code. If you have one of these we’ll let you know and recommend getting it replaced before we clean.
